Uncle Don & Pitchin' Paul:
Christman seemed to approach NYU with (a) cavalier attitude. The Violets could expect no shrinking violet. "I’ll blow those New Yorkers off the field," Christman quipped before the game. And, like Joe Namath at Super Bowl III, Christman made good on his promise.

The Flea-KICKER:
"One stinkin' play!" That's how Missouri Head Coach Larry Smith summed up Missouri's loss to No. 1 ranked Nebraska in 1997. One stinkin' play separated Missouri, a football program known for huge upsets, from pulling off the greatest upset in Tiger football history.

In Missouri the play is known as the "flea-kicker." Tiger fans believe the ball hit the ground. Tiger fans believe Davison didn't make the catch. Tiger fans think Wiggins intentionally kicked the ball in the air and should have been called for a penalty. Tiger fans are still stunned by the final seconds of the fourth quarter in the 1997 Nebraska game. "One stinkin' play."

Vindicated and Victorious:
The razzle-dazzle electrified the crowd and gave the Tigers a 14-7 lead. Sometimes to break a 25-year losing streak you have to resort to a little trickery. The play foreshadowed events to come, as the Tigers would throw caution to the wind.
